Folic acid in doses more than 0.1 mg/day may obscure pernicious anemia. Niacinamide in large doses should be used with caution in patients with gallbladder disease or diabetes. Niacinamide may elevate uric acid levels, use with caution in patients predisposed to gout.
Administration of iron for more than 6 months should be avoided except in patients with continued bleeding, menorrhagia, or repeated pregnancies; avoid in patients with peptic ulcer, enteritis or ulcerative colitis.
